NAIROBI–Mexican ambassador to Kenya Erasmo Roberto Martinez has dismissed claims by Kenyan Government that it procured 450,000 metric tonnes of yellow maize worthy Kshs.10bn from Mexico.
Speaking to our reporters on Saturday afternoon, Martinez accused Jubilee Government for dragging Mexico to its game of corruption and urged Uhuru Kenyatta to stop oppressing Kenyans for his own interests.
“Our embassy is not aware of any maize deal between Kenyan Government and Mexican administration. I want to make it clear that Kenyan Government did not procure the said Maize from Mexico. We only grow yellow maize for animal consumption. We have not and we can not export such product to Kenyan consumers. Therefore, Uhuru

is a conman, and I guess he is trying to rob Kenyans Shs.10bn to run his campaigns.” Said Martinez.
“I urge Uhuru and his Government to stop oppressing the locals for his own gains.” He added.
Martinez was responding to claims that Kenyan Government had paid Kshs.10bn to Mexican Government to export 10 million bags of yellow maize to Kenya.
